Hunter Hayes is getting ready to head back out on Carrie Underwood’s Blown Away Tour, and will once again serve as the sole opener. This time around, Hunter is hoping to remember his past experiences with the tight security on the road. The singer admits he had trouble carrying his credentials backstage!
“I had just walked in from my meet-and-greet and I didn’t have it on because I was taking pictures with people. I walked towards my dressing room and I walk pass the security guard, and he stops me like, ‘No.’ I’m like, ‘It’s cool, I’m going to go to the bus – it’s cool.’ He is like, ‘No, I can’t let you do that.’ I was like, ‘That’s a problem! I don’t have my pass and I have to get to the bus!’ So it has been a fun little learning experience!”
After receiving three Grammy nominations, Hunter recently found out that he is up for ACM New Male Vocalist – against Brantley Gilbert and Lee Brice. Fans can start voting Monday (1/21), for their favorite singer to move on and compete for the ACM New Artist of the Year title. The ACM Awards will air live at 8PM Eastern on CBS.
