KEY WEST—
A seven-year, nearly $1 million restoration of Harry Truman's Little White House is complete.The Key West home where Truman spent vacations while president will be re-dedicated in a ceremony Friday. U.S. senator and 1972 presidential nominee George McGovern will take part. The dedication also begins a two-day symposium where scholars will discuss Truman's relationship with Congress during his presidency from 1945-1953.
Truman White House staff member Ken Hechler and Truman grandson Clifton Truman Daniel will speak. Truman spent 11 working vacations at the home while in office.
It has also hosted former presidents Dwight Eisenhower, John Kennedy, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.
