17th Number One For Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood drove “Two Black Cadillacs” to the top, as it claims the #1 spot on the country music charts this week. The song serves as Carrie’s 17th #1 single, and her 8th #1 as a songwriter. She wrote the song with Nashville hit writers – Josh Kear and Hillary Lindsey – and Carrie loves how fans can paint their own visual from the lyrics. "It’s so juicy cause you can—you hear it and you can see it all playing out in your head, you know? It doesn’t have to be explained too much. I love the fact that it’s very image oriented. When we were writing it, we kinda wrote it backwards. We had two black cadillacs, and started thinking ‘What would you picture two black cadillacs—ahh a funeral! Okay, so now we’re at a funeral.” “Two Black Cadillacs” is the third single off of Blown Away, and was certified Gold for selling over 500,000 copies. Blown Away is up from Album of the Year at this year’s ACM Awards, and Carrie is also nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year. Tune in to the ACM Awards on April 7th at 8PM Eastern on CBS, to see Carrie perform as well.
