Several country artists took home awards at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. Little Big Town won their first ever Grammy for Best Country/Duo Group Performance for their #1 hit “Pontoon.” The Zac Brown Bandreceived their third career Grammy for Best Country Album with Uncaged. Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away” picked up two Grammys – Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance. During the pre-telecast, Taylor Swift and the Civil Wars won Best Song Written for Visual Media for their song from The Hunger Games soundtrack, “Safe & Sound.” Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild on hearing their name called for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Pontoon.” “When we were looking up there we were back there and your heart starts to race a little bit and you’re thinkin’, ‘Is it possible that they could call our name.’ Then you look at the people in your category and you’re thinkin’, ‘No, it probably won’t happen,’ but then it did!” Carrie Underwood on her video projection dress used during her Grammy performance. “We had a dress specially made so it would be a dress but have a nice projection screen...I said we should take that home and watch movies on it at home. You wanna watch movies on my dress?”
