Kacey Musgraves has earned her first Gold certification, as her debut single, “Merry Go Round,” has sold over 500,000 copies. It seems like many fans can relate to the words Kacey and her fellow co-writers penned, and she admits their backgrounds are what sparked the song. “We’re all from small towns, so I think that had a lot to do with…obviously growing up in a small-town environment where the way you are perceived is everything to people. It was also kind of inspired by the fact that when people are scared to leave their comfort zones, they kind of, I think, tend to settle a little and I think that’s just life…and that’s a lot of people’s lives, so that’s kind of what inspired us.”This weekend, Kacey will help Kenny Chesney kick off his No Shoes Nation Tour in Tampa, Florida, along with Eric Church and the Eli Young Band. Her new album, "Same Trailer, Different Park" comes out March 19th.
