Unlike Toby Keith, some country music newcomers hope to hear their song played once on the radio, let alone millions of times! The singer was recently honored by BMI with this Million-Air awards at a studio on Music Row in Nashville. The long-time BMI songwriter was given several awards representing songwriting and publishing credits for more than 15 million air plays for some of Toby’s biggest hits. Those tracks include songs like “How Do You Like Me Now?,” “Beer For My Horses,” “She Never Cried in Front of Me,” “God Love Her,” “I Love this Bar” and “Who’s Your Daddy?” The Million-Air award is given to songwriters whose songs accumulate over to over one million U.S. broadcast performances. Paul McCartney, Dolly Parton and Roy Orbison are a few iconic artists who have been given the honor as well.
