Well, it's happened, and the duo are engaged, E! News has confirmed.
"Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage," his rep told us.
The newly engaged couple, who have been dating for a little over a year, met on the set of the movie Wanderlust. Aniston described the experience in InStyle's March issue as one of the most "idyllic" shoots she's ever had, and adds that she's at a "joyful and peaceful" place right now and knows what she's looking for when it comes to love.
