In an overly exuberant attempt to clean up her image, Lindsay Lohan apparently got caught stretching the truth via Twitter about rescuing enslaved child laborers in India.Lindsaylohansource.com reported that the Long Island native tweeted, "Over *40 children saved* so far Within one day's work This is what life is about .. Doing THIS is a life worth living!!!"
The only problem? The lawyer and activist responsible for rescuing the 40 children, known as Bhuwan, has confirmed that Lohan wasn't even in the country when they were saved.
Despite initially reporting LiLo's tweet as a lie, the BBC has since released the following statement, "Lindsay Lohan has just completed filming in India for a BBC Three project on child trafficking. We would like to stress that she did not say she was present at the raid, this is a misinterpretation," the rep said. "She was merely referring to a raid that happened connected to child trafficking - the subject of the programme."
Bhuwan disagreed saying, "She was not even in the country when this raid happened," Bhuwan said. "We'll be complaining to the BBC and talking to our lawyers Would Lohan know where these workshops are?"
The kernel of truth is that Lohan did return from India Sunday after a three day trip helping to shoot a documentary to expose the high rates of child kidnapping.
